But if I wanted to sell it then I would have to dish out some hard cash towards certain companies that own the rights to the movies I am poking fun at?

Questions About Doing A Parody Of A Movie

Do I have to pay royalities or anything if I poke fun at a movie? And if the title sounds similar to the original movie are there any kind of special steps I have to take?

I think that's the movie about these kids on an island killing each other. I think. I've heard it's an excellent movie from a lot of people and am trying to track it down. They made a sequel to it (or so I've heard) that has gotten so-so reviews. But then again that's stuff I've heard from a select ...

That really sucks man. I'd try not to let filmmaking come between you and your friend though. As much as I love making movies (well trying to anyway...) I would never want to lose a friend over it. Just sit down and talk to him. And is he working for free? Some people that work for free get frustrat...

I swear, that bin sucks (although occasionally there's a good find), and Walmart is evil. It's a conspiracy! I kind of agree. All that has been in there lately is crappy cartoons and this movie called Left Behind. Blockbuster however does have some good deals on their used movies sometimes. If you ...

One thing you could try to do is digitally black out your eyes. That's what they did for Agent Sands in Once Upon A Time In Mexico and I thought it worked out ok.

Are you using their editor or doing it in HTMl? Because I believe you would upload the file and make a link to it if you are using HTML. I'm not sure about doing it with their editor though. Good luck man! :)

Thanks for all of the information guys. I have to get started and think of a name now. This morning I found out that what I was going to call my production company was taken by a porn company. That makes me pretty angry. Thanks for all of your help guys :D

This sounds cool guys. But couldn't I somehow use this as a tax writeoff since I would be the owner of a company? And couldn't I write camera equipment off as a business expense? That would be kind of cool :)

How Do You People Do It?

I've noticed that a lot of you have started your own production companies (or at least what I think is a production company) and I just wanted to know how you do it? So...how do you do it?

I don't know if it's even worth doing that though. This laptop is old and nothing special. I think it has like a 4 meg graphics card and the HD is nothing special at all. I will be getting my brother's computer when he starts college which will be in like a month, so then I'll have a killer computer...

Well 10 GIG sounds about right. Thta is why many video professionals will recommend 2 HD's, or at least over 100 GIG of HD Space. My recent capture for a school project was 18.8 GB. Also realize that MPEG 2, while VERY space saving, is not usually suited for heavy editing, as it is a compressed for...

When I saw this happen today I backed up everything that I would need incase I have to reformat the hd. I did however download adaware and it picked up a ton of things! I think that might be the problem. Hopefully it is. I'm just looking over the files it picked up and making sure it isn't an import...

This makes me sad

When I turned my laptop back on today I noticed that there was a huge different in the speed it once operated in. Now it takes like one minute to open a folder and sometimes get things like AIM started. I deleted a lot of stuff and ran scandisk a few times but it is still very slow. Any suggestions ...
