Pearl Harbor wasn't even entertaining to me; it was a chick flick set during a major historical event. Love triangles have no place in war, and I was so sick of the cheezy love story bullsh** that I turned it off before the titular event even occured.

Should have just fast forwared to the attack, because I heard that was cool. Love trianlgles can really screw up a war movie look at emamy at the Gates, good movie untill that stuped love cr** got injected.

Then again, the love part of Enemy of the Gates wasn't TOO bad, especially because of Rachel Weisz ;) (and I was also able to tune it out because it didn't make it such a large part of the story, and they didn't put it at the beginning)

too true

Pearl Harbor has some great digital work ie. nifty how they erased the local buildings. But it did have quite a bit of loving stuff. Thats where it crashed. The storyline was based around the lives of the two characters, not pearl harbor. I just like the action sequence.

Just out of curiousity, anyone here watch it for the love story rather than the action?

I own the Directors Cut DVD of Peral Harbor, and I found it to be much beter than the regular PG-13 version of the film. The action sequences just seemed to be better with the R-rated material added to the film.

I can't see how some people can hate this movie so much. I know it isn't a masterpiece or anything like that, but it was still ok.

A nothing thing I don't understand is; how some people can like a movie like "Titanic" and then hate a movie like "Peral Harbor". Both of these films are like identical in every way. But yet; one films gets all the gloary, and the other is called total garbage? I just don't understand?

I think Micheal Bay is the best fictional action director in the world today. I can't wait to see what he turns out next.

I'm not sure if anybody here ever said they like Titanic. i'll give credit that Titanic was a good well made flick, but I'm never sitting though it again, unless I can cut right to the ship sinking.

whenever i see hitchcock's vertigo effect being used i just say "woah". the matrix's bullet time effect is cool, unless its not in The Matrix (movie), or done in a rip off* of the matrix

*by rip off i mean some crazy hollywood director who claims "it is totally origional in his movie".

Asian and kung fu films, eh... makes sense.

Talking about asian films, who else besides me likes Jackie Chan movies? I think they are awsome.

About Reservoir Dogs, that is maybe my favorite of Tarantino's films. The writing is just amazing.

FOR EXAMPLE:

At the beginning of the movie, all the criminals are sitting around the table talking and basically just having a good time, and the audience has no idea who anybody is. Several scenes later, after the diamond heist (which you don't really see) all the rest of the guys are freaking out and making this huge deal out of "Mr. Blonde" and how he went nuts during the job and started killing everybody. There is all this talk of Mr. Blonde here and Mr. Blonde there and we don't know which one he even is. Then, when you finally see him, he is this totally mellow, laid back guy (or at least for a while).
GENIUS!!!!

AND THERE IS SIMPLY NO QUESTION THAT TARANTINO HAS A WAY WITH DIALOGUE. IT ALL SOUNDS SO AMAZINGLY NATURAL.
"This is when I saw the dark figures moving about in the woods. I should have never tampered with the 'Book Of The Dead.' I now know that whatever it is I have resurrected through this book, is coming for me."

Ya kill bill terenteno is going to make a sword movie, I am so seeing this. It is supost to have limbs getting hacked of, his standred level of violance with swords. And this one is only the first part. Because the orignal cut was like four hours, and he wouldn't cut it Miramax desided to release it in two parts. Sweeter.
