"Star Wars - Invasion"

Hello everyone!

My name´s Heiko and just signed up to your lovely little forum here. Since I started a amateur film project called "Star Wars - Invasion" I am totally into special effects on a low budget

And for my premiere post here, I´d like to present the result of approx. 8 months work:

Star Wars - Invasion (A Star Wars fan film)

It´s DivX5 compress, approx 62 MB zipped and has a running time of 44 minutes.

Story:

Four normal guys from Germany meet up to watch their favourite film Return Of The Jedi. But sooner as they thought they are in their very own Star Wars. The Empire starts an invasion on Earth and they begin with the hometown of our four friends.

Now all depends on our four heroes, can they stop the invasion? Can they defeat Darth Vader and his new evil companion Darth Boese?

Through and through a spoof of the original Star Wars movies and some other well known Blockbusters.

Expect a lot of lightsaber action, Spacecrafts, and of course some wicket jokes!

I hope you guys and girls around here like it and give me some feedback, as I´m in the planning stage for part II which will be shot later this summer!

geez dude i dont have cable so i cant download your vid it would take me ages... maybe you could edit out some small clips of effects shots and etc for us modem people?

At the moment I don´t have much time for an extra cut, but what I can supply you with is an older trailer we´ve made a few months ago.

Also there are some snapshots from the movie.

Please keep in mind these are rather old files and some if not almost all scenes have been undergone heavy fixing or improving effect wise.

I don't think you're gonna get many downloads at that size!

Remember, you may be proud of your high quality images but the general public wont give a sh*t! Compress away

Considering the movie runs approx. 44 minutes and is already heavily compressed with divx5 I think 62 MB aren´t that much of a download.

I´ve seen movies that were close to 200 MB and did not run any longer but still were downloaded.

If you´re on ye´good´ol 56k modem, I can understand you´re not going to download. But as we have subtitles (movie´s in German, English subtitles) I did not want to lower the res even more, otherwise the subtitles would not be of any service if you can´t read them.

I'm downloading it. My net connection is a bit slow today so it's only downloading at 20kb/s

See I don't mind looking at a little compressed version just to look at the film making side of things alone!

Plus I know a little German (admittedly only the swear words, so if your Star Wars film is full of swear words I'll understand it fully )
