Costumes
Hello!
I am making an action movie and I'm not sure what costumes to have.
The "hero" has a matrix-like trenchcoat. Like the one neo has,
But for the villain im not sure. I first was thinking maybe the same as the hero but that would look kinda dumb if both had the same clothes ,
and if he has a suit, that would be too "neo vs agent"
I was also thinking a thick leather jacket but that would be kinda hard to fight in, so I dont really know what the villain should wear. Any ideas?

RE: Costumes
It would help if we knew the context of the story. What are the hero and villian competing for? Why? What is their situation? This will help us to better understand what each character should wear.
My first suggestion, however, is to get rid of the trenchcoat for the hero. That whole concept is overused and overrated.

Try going to goodwill, they have a lot of costumes for cheap. Or if you go to most theaters like the guthrie, they sell and rent out their costumes.

Thats costume design your asking for. Know any artists? If so, give a LOT of discription, and then ask an artist to draw concept images. From those , tell them what you like dislike, get revised versions until you get one you like, and then start focusing on how to put it together. Don't simply go to a costume shop and say " OK, well use this, that and how about some of this." Go to a costume shop for some insipiration prehaps, but plan it out. Don't add random bits to the costume, have everything for a reason.

You can try eBay. People sell the darndest things and I'm sure you could find a cheap lot of clothes to play with.

A lot of times if you go to a cloth store like Mill End Textiles or Joann Fabrics you can order what you want and they will have it professionally done for you.

But I'm asking about what type of clothes, not what color.Sebas wrote:Why dont you let the villain only white clothes for a difference
black is so passé
And that costs what, 50-100 $?Radiate wrote:A lot of times if you go to a cloth store like Mill End Textiles or Joann Fabrics you can order what you want and they will have it professionally done for you.

Why not instead of making the characters flashy, make them look plain and average, just to give the effect that the bad guys and good guys could be anyone. If your walking through a crowd of people I'd be more scared if I didn't know what the bad guy looked like then some giant white clothed q-tip (idea from Sebas)!

white hair?! The actor is already blonde, but white hair sounds a bit strange...Sebas wrote:no special clothes, white jacket, white trousers not very absurd clothes
maybe you can give him white hair
maj, but then it'll look like we didnt afford to have clothes for the people in the movie =/
Plus, the bad guy can't be anyone in my movie MUAHHAHAHHAHAHA
