Animating Text in Vegas 6

I'm trying to animate some text in vegas 6 but can't figure out how. I don't have a specific effect in mind, I just need to know how to do any kind of animation.

whenever you open any kind of effect in Vegas, at the bottom there should be a little time line and on that time line, you can add key frames and move it around or whatever....its hard to explain, if you are familiar with macromedia flash then you will probably get it.
