Paranormal Powers

Post by aaronv2 »

Someone said to post some stuff... Iv'e been busy at work but anyway I was watching XMen 3 and x files the other day... i dont know why but i was noticing especially in xmen that small objects and subtle cgi was used for some of the effects that altered the environment.

So i was playing around and am trying to get some animations to use and sort of crush some objects with my mind.

i was going to add some distortion effects in the space around the object to add some paranormal imagery but right now all i got is this test animation using a coke can
Muzzle Flashes, Bullet Time, Lightsabers, Buffy Vampire Effects, War Films.... Ahhhhh!

lightwave... You model the can in subpatches then create a Morph to it being crushed where you just shape the can and destroy it with various tools in the modeler. Then animate the morph so it looks like its being violently crushed. I also added some animated distortion maps and bump maps to make the metal look a little more detailed when it was crushed.

Im going to move on to more violent powers, does any one have any ideas. Try to think of mutant ideas not in the movie

Crushing a person's head with their mind powers?

hehe the effect is cool! I'd love to see it implemented into a short film clip.

Try doing a small sketch showing a Voodoo Doll and the person it is effecting.

Try removing blood from a human with the mind.

hm your all quite violent instead of really understanding the idea... this is about the attention to detail and the subtelty of using the cgi.

stop thinking of over the top effects to "wow" your audience because unless its a lame slasher flick with horror film geeks watching, it wont work. you gotta make the effects compliment the shot not overpower it. so i need something environmental or object specific even if its like meg of family guy growin her extra large nails.

how about... lifting up a car, and then throwing it at some one, and when it hits them it gets smashed up and some the windows break.

talking about breaking windows, does anyone know how to make a window break in blender3d?

see thats a better idea... and it would be cool if the person didnt move and the car bent around him like he was made of steel or something

Or as if he had some kind of invisible magical orb around him that smashed everything in his path. So the car would bend into a circle.

That, or you could make the it so the orb surrounding the character is dome shaped, and when the car is thrusted towards the character, it simply slides up and over, as if going off a ramp.

Or better yet, it could possibly have the type of relationship a ''bumper'' and a pinball have. Such as, as soon as it touches, the orb blasts it away in the opposite direction.

Haha, this is just my imagination running at random...

Yeah cool, how about it bends around the person as far as could (a bit like made out of elastic) and then springs back up in an ark. And maybe one tyre could fly off and break the window of a random house... Hmm... Cool :)

The orb should be like electronic blue. It should be almost a sphere, but stops at the ground, unless your willing to have the person flying around. And when it interacts with anything sparks (if against metal) should fly off the surface as if your hitting two rocks together at night. And when the orb touches the window, it bends in the breaks into the car.
If the orb touched a person, the person should either evaporate or be violently, electric-shock thrown across the room.
