Free Stock Footage

Post by brain.nz »

Hey does anyone know some good stock footage websites?

I've heard about
detonationfilms.com and videocopilot.net but I was wondering if you guys know of any other websites with good resources like that?

Cheers guys, I hope to make my productions better with your help :)

Yeah that is a pretty good website. I was thinking more sort of other types of stock footage? Like Detonationfilms has really good resources for explosions, gun shots etc but what about things like nature, cars, visualisations, weather, etc.

stock footage doesnt exist in film making... if you need footage or a cutaway you need your second unit to go film it.

since your obviously nowhere near that sort of professionalism ill give you some tips. theres no such thing as free stock... if you use ANYTHING and i mean anything without the permission of its original artist you can be calling your attourney the nexy morning.

however people will sell their stock easily without any second thaught because they have their greedy eyes on the money. so naturally there are alot of websites that sell movie stock footage. What websites you ask? well im not doing the work for you... you don't know how to type "movie stock footage" in google?
Muzzle Flashes, Bullet Time, Lightsabers, Buffy Vampire Effects, War Films.... Ahhhhh!

things haven't changed? oh you think too small my friend... Things get better!

They have made a website just for my cause to get people to search google first. Researching and Learning is a huge asset to a film maker. So don't let people tell you how to do something, you loose all creativity.

how about the bbc motion gallery (I don't know the address but search goolge for it and you'll find) loads of great clips , not explosions and stuff but some really good footage... It is watermarked unfornunately and you have to pay a bit to get rid of the watermark.
