MattHawkins Online - Film Making Forum

I've been making films for about a year know, and I have only just signed up to these forums. I have read the basic plot of this thing (Zombies yada yada yada...) and I have an idea for the part I could make (if it's okay with you guys I contribute a little to this big project). Anyway, my idea is two boys are playing a game (probably Metroid Prime 2 as I love that in multiplayer). The doorbell rings. A boy goes and gets it, and to his horror, a Zombie is there in full Resi Evil-like horror. He starts to run, but the zombie doesn't follow him. Instead, he goes into the room where the other boy is. The other boy hears screams from the first, so he hides behind aa chair. The Zombie enters the room. The boy starts to sweat in fear. The Zombie looks around. He comes near the chair where the boy is sitting behind, and looks above it. The boy quickly scruntches up againt the back of the chair so the Zombie can't see him. The Zombie walks out. The boy gets up and looks around and to his horror sees the Zombie through the glass in the other room. The Zombie runs, quickly opens the door and charges towards the boy who is trying to open the door. But its two late....

Upstairs the other boy is crying. He punches in some numbers to a phone, and puts it to his ear. The Zombie is coming up the stairs. "Hello?" comes the voice from the phone. "Help..." the boy says timidly into the phone. "James?" the person at the other end of the phone says. The Zombie is now at the top of the stairs, he sees the boy, and runs at him. "Hello?" the boy at the end of the phone says, but James's phone is dangling down from the wire. There is a knock on the boy who was on the phone's door. He goes to answer it.

What do you think?

My opinion is that we get committed people, share a common zombie understanding, each produce a random short and them compile them. But no one is willing to commit

Are you planning on having make up for the zombie? If not its going to look fair bad.
Your zombie doesnt seem very determained to kill them either. Zombies are either infected people who have no mind control and all they know how to do is eat. Or they have died and brought back with no memory or thought and they feed.

See Rhys brings up a good point....what is a zombie? I class infection as a different style. A zombie to me is the dead reanimated only. That is why 28 Dyas Later in my opinion is not zombie. We need a common view and goal, then a timeline of completion. Lets do it!

I'm reading and willing to be commited

I've never really visited this whole forum before (the zombie's thing) but it looks good. I'm afraid I'm to busy to contribute but will be interested in the final product. Question: Who does the final editing at the end? Is it foxwood, by any chance?

I could be in charge of make up, zombies is what i do best

As always, Liza is a true innovator in this field... Simple, cost effective way to make Zombie makeup that anyone can do really..

Kinda. Like a collabaration.

this is the first time ive actually looked in this forum part, and i sorta get what you mean, so everyone just does a random zombie scene that they make up and then everyone posts theirs and then someone puts them all together like some big compilation of zombie scenes? or does someone write a script, and then everyone who wants to be involved gets asigned a scene to do?
am i getting anywhere?

Zac, I think the original idea was to have a bunch of different 'clips' from news brodcasts/home videos around the country showing various zombie attacks.
