WIERD FILM: PlEASE wATCH: VERY SHORT! PLEASE COMMENT!

Post by Jperson »

OK, this is a really strange short I found, while I was browsing my HD. I know that I'm going to get torn to bits over this, but I don't care. Please do comment on this strange film. It's quite short. It's got a wierd name (Guhaas Ti) for a wierd film.

PLEASE COMMENT:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... 5&hl=en-GB

OK soon I'll upload another short which everyone can look at and rip apart, I did this one ages ago, right, I just wanted for you guys to compare the diference, see what you thought, which one was better, etc. (buy the way the WIERD series is a triliegy, which I can complete sometime and upload the lot).

Infact I can't be bothered to upload, 'acuse I know it ain't great, and it will just wste time.

Is there a point? Well really (this is posibly too deep) the point is that there is no point. But basicaly it's just meant to make the viewer, sort of invent a story to go with it.

true, you have a point their, but it really reminds me of something, and not an imaginative plot line, but something from like 10 years ago.............*really thinks hard*

10 years ago? I wouldn't remember something from ten years ago, I would be too young!! And I know the plot was unimagnitive, but it was meant to be like that, with not much filled in for the viewer.

Tell me about it, I while ago I just decided not to use other people's music and make my own. It takes longer but stops you from having ten different choices, which all just about fit what you're looking for.

i don't do my music, it depends on the movie, for something with a lot of fighting and cgi, i would use linkin park, for something with a sad ending i'd use some U2 etc

Yeah, I also sometimes use classical, which can be really effective.

jesus could you guys maybe spam each other on pms or msn or something! About a million posts of mindless small talk!

Righto, well Jperson, it does 'honestly' appear kind of random, I mean I can see where your going with the voyeuristic wandering around the house. I think its just that the video is quite grainy and unattractive, while the sound is really quite annoying (the sound of noise, or interference, and the jarring cut sounds.)

I don't suspect you were out to make some kind of Brechian film voyeur experience hehe, that said if this is a wee film your sincere about then heres maybe some ways you can film it again but better :)

Next time film it without sound (or cut out the sound track.) Bear in mind a more singular theme for this, (in a way this is called 'documenting a space'.) Its a good wee experiment that would suit what your doing here. But take a subject (a place, like your home, or a phone box or anything.) Then with a range of exploratory shots, let us 'experience' the place. In a way your wee film at home could almost do that but i think it was your shots that let yourself down.

It's called 'hoovering' when you film just anything (like a home video), next time why not take shots in sequence 'documenting a space' that are deeply relevant (for example say the phone box - find a cob web, close up of reiever, wide shot of the box, lots of dutch angles etc (slanted shots)

Okay dokey, also tell me what are your technical specs with the camera?

Right, Lawriejaffa, jeese, thanks for the help, I'll try what you said - and about the sound, I virtualy didn't edit it, if I was going to make into something propper I would have put titles, blanked the sound and put some music in bits. But anyway, thanks for the help. And the camera, I know it is not a propper video cam, but then I'm not into the quality of the actual video as much. Also that was pretty grainy 'cause it was shot in thet evening, 'cause this girl i knew ( 8) ) came over and we were a bit bored, so we kinda did that. It actualy turned out a hell of a lot better that I thought it would!

I'll try what you said Lawriejaffa and post another one up sometime, and possibly make it more dramatic.
