I need help on a project I'm working on. I'm doing a DVD for a friend that showcases his talents as a karaoke host. It's basiclly just a big commercial for him. I've got the main menu, scene selections menu, intro, and the first karaoke song he sings done. The night that I shot the video was also the night of the city wide karaoke finals. I video taped all of the contestants songs in their entirety.
My question is how should I go about editing together all of the contestants? I don't want to use the full songs because that would get really boring really fast. I'm stuck. Does anyone have any suggestions?

RE: I need help
Just use around aminute of their best part of the song.
Fade from the title of the song and who sung it, to the person singing it.

RE: I need help
Try a montage sort of thing 20 seconds of one person, then fade to another.Repeat.
