Where do you get your guns?

Post by Bocca »

Ok, so ive been trying to acquire some weaponry here in the UK.

Besides joke.co.uk, the local 99p store and bootsales, I can find any suppliers of decent fake weaponry.

Where do you get yours?

Or if you build them, where do you get plans/inspiration and how much did it cost?

Im finding it hard to find WWII Guns on the net, esp the M1 Garand. So far ive found the M1 Thompson and MP40, quite cheap too.

I recommend that you try Antics.co.uk
They are really cheap and have some nice looking Airsoft guns

www.shop.joke.co.uk/

http://www.sillyjokes.co.uk/

thats where i got mine from besides poundland which has some decent looking guns for you guessed it £1 and i brought some from toys r us and then sprayed them black. remember to tell ur actors not to throw them when they die though, thats one mistake i wont make again

whats wrong with joke.co.uk i used it and i thought they were good

and ct bullet i dont no what part of town you come from but average shmoe cant afford £40 to £250 on each gun like all the websites you posted and there likely to get confiscated if the police turn up (make sure you ring them first)

and if you ever happen to go to bulgaria make sure u buy some BB guns becuase you can get the best ones ever for the equivalent of £10 and you can get them through customs.

ah thanks for links.

Theres nothing wrong with joke.co.uk at all, I just wanted to look through some alternatives.

I really want the Steyr AUG, but at £220, i dont think thats going to happen.

I picked up some MP40s (at least i think they are) which need spraying black for 99p each, from the 99p store. So thats pretty decent, they look cool too.

and when i get some money Im going to buy this: http://www.geniestuff.co.uk/htdocs/g3-s ... -p1088.htm for the sniper in my next film, if it ever gets to production.

One of my friends told me the bootsale is pretty cool too, thanks for your help.

Any more sites would be appreciated.

ebay doesnt have any replica guns, only toy guns or vintage pirate ones. I think they made it illegal to sell BB/Airsoft and Replicas on eBay UK

Could you post a pic of the 99p MP40s? I have heard that you can get them but havnt found them in London or my home town. (Of course in myarea of London you can get rather heavier and more powerful guns than the airsoft ones... and at about the same price... but are slightly more illegal)

In mile end at the moment, only till Saturday though, then back to glorious Hereford, home of The Regiment. Wish I had found this site when planning my WW2 short, would have been very useful, now just looking for an SA80 model below £55, doubt I will find one...

Those MP40s look really good, will have to think about getting some for my production. I only plan to get 2, they'll just be for show, if i start playing with muzzle flashes and gun fights i may go mad.

Found the SA80 here:

http://www.surplusandadventure.com/isho ... r1009.html for £60, may have to go with this one.

Have fired cadet, A1 and A2, live and FAT and SAT ranges, as well as blankfiring A2 in Basic and on excersise. This summer I get a full 5day excersise in the field with FIBUA (or OIBUA as its known now?) and then possibly 17 days with an Armoured regiment in Germany!

If you live in the US, shortyusa.com and kapowwe.com are both very good airsoft websites. Kapowwe also carries a wide variety of toy guns and cap guns. Their prices range from cheap $4 pistols to $1000 submachine guns. I've gotten all my airsoft from shortyusa.com.

PS: Amazon.com also has a huge variety of airsoft.

I've been blessed with a semi-corrupt dollar-store near my house that stocks everything from airsoft rifles to katanas and deactivated grenades. Of course they sell for more than a dollar, but the prices are better than internet and the convenience factor is unparalleled.
