Get a large amount of white clothe. Like a hug sheet. If you could get a silk sheet (parachute silk) that would most likely be best but w.e would work. Depending on what kinda of chute you are making, cut it into a large rectangle or circle and buy some parachute chord (shouldnt be very expensive) and use that to tie it up :)

Good luck

How much would a parachute cost? If you wanted to buy a real one. Just out of curiosity. Maybe you could go to a Sky Diving place and ask if they have any broken parachutes that you could have or buy for cheap

You can buy real military surplus parachutes anywhere from $20-100. Just keep looking

although the cords and harness have been removed for "military safety regulations. " what ever that is, i reckon it would make a pretty cool prop and with a little parachute cord on, it could be really effective on film

go for it :D

and hey all the parachutes were pretty much the same then anyway.

Basically all that is left is a giant white sheet with holes in it... If you are going to spend that much money, at least find a complete parachute.

Just use a bed sheet, that's what I used in Forgotten and it looked "great"!

At best, you could take your bedsheet and cut crescent shape holes in it. Find similar looking ropes and I doubt many would see a difference.
