oy,

did this for fun in after effects, first one is normal, second one has matrix ripple,

That was really good.

The inital ripple looked excellent, but after that it looked like cr**.

I agree that the inital ripple looked excellent. It really adds to the explosion. Any way you can just keep that first little bit of the ripple?

the fire in the house looked rather poor, couldn't you have done the fire escaping more, but other than that i liked it

what was with the camera move? the hole in the wall looks like it was layered over the top and thats it which im probably guessing is accurate. anyway the debris is all the same the fire looks horrible what am i trying to say here... more patience and planning next time maybe?

Most of us on here either do this for fun or hobby or are doing it to actually make it in the business. Its nice that you are wanting to provide some guidence to those who are finding their way through the realm of effects creation but at least you can try and critique at a lighter tone. This isn't a reality show like American Idol where you gotta be cut throat to people to get your point across and sarcasm really doesn't earn you respect amongst the people. You may have taken classes for creating special effects while others on here learn by viewing tutorials or spending hours experimenting or copying what they see on a movie or TV show. On a lighter note, you have viewed my version of the Vic Von Doom effect. I would like your input on how I could make the effect better minus the acting.

well i think that settles that idea, oh and its not because i havent got material its just i hate to see people abuse someone really trying to help them my harsh way is just my way of showing you how stupid it is and why. i didnt goto any schools i played like you guys for years and years and if someone like me was doing the same thing i would have taken notice immediately. If i was george lucas and was saying the same stuff every one of you would be kissing my a**. your just too proud to admit you can do better.

If you have Adobe After Effects use the ripple filter.

well, regardles of the comments so far, I for one was impressed, a few things that have already bee mentioned in terms of quality, etc but I thought it was very good, keep practicing though.
