RE: "Code of Dissolution" Trailer
Chock full of awesomeness, I loved to look of it. The acting seems to be of very good quality, and all in all it seems very professional. The only gripe I have is that it seemed a little too dark in places, but I have my monitor set way down. Hurry up and release it before I die of anticipation.

Very cool! I noticed that you changed some of the things that were in the previous teaser, did you re-film some of the scenes?
It looks very good, especially the dollying shot of the playground.

Yeah it does a little barnes, just cos its been exported via 16:9 widescreen but it was perhaps filmed K on 4:3?
It looks just a tiny bit stretched but 'good enuf' to not raise too much of an eyebrow with ur average audience member.
I think the new trailer is very good, (i mentioned before about the youngish cast, the newsreader, and the recoil and other things) i still think that applies to your film, but thats said and done.
The trailer is edited very well, the pace between shots, and the whole package is edited in such a way that it is very professional. The difference between an amatuer and professional film maker isnt skill, its the desire to sell your product that makes you professional, and the desire not too that makes you amatuer. I also think with more adult actors, there would be very little way to distuingish your film from many of the made for television thrillers, that feature on cable channels (okay i cant say that entirely cos the finished film isnt up yet)
But I say well done, looking slick and i really look forward to seeing the finished film, cos that is no small feat to make something work at such a length

Yeah, you're right, at one point my camcorder stopped working (it would record sound but not picture) so I went to get it fixed. We ended up having to use a different camcorder that only recorded on 4:3, we had filmed with my camcorder on 16:9 so I didn't want half the movie on fullscreen and the other half on widescreenLawriejaffa wrote:Yeah it does a little barnes, just cos its been exported via 16:9 widescreen but it was perhaps filmed K on 4:3?
I didn't want the picture to look washed out so I increased the contrast and the color brightness a little so it sometimes tend to make it darker than it really was but it is still noticable. We might be finishing the last scene and a half next Saturday so it should be out hopefully within' the month.UFProductions wrote:The only gripe I have is that it seemed a little too dark in places, but I have my monitor set way down. Hmm thats not necessarily the case Clarence ol' boy, in any case digitisation to film transfer as regards to 35mm is a totally different ball game, and it wont' letterbox any video filmed on a 'true' 16:9 digital camera mode. (mines and older ones tend to just er stretch 4:3 a bit lol)
Anyway i doubt anyone on this forum will be able to afford transfering to 35mm (and i presume ur meaning s35mm)

My mistake, I was thinking of 16mm to 35mmLawriejaffa wrote:Hmm thats not necessarily the case Clarence ol' boy, in any case digitisation to film transfer as regards to 35mm is a totally different ball game, and it wont' letterbox any video filmed on a 'true' 16:9 digital camera mode. I didn't really want to risk croping out the top and bottom. It could also be that I rendered it in 24fps which (in Vegas 5) kind of widens it up a little and causing a little pull down on the bars making it look more like an anamorphic widescreen rather that 16:9.
Any more comments?
by the way Captain of course you loved it, you were in it!

Yes indeedy. Why?
Update:
Today (being the 10th of September) we finished the filming for the movie, we will most likely premiere it next week at a friends house or something and then it should be online within 2-3 weeks. Since the movie is about 45min long I'm going to make 2 halfs just to preserve the quality a little better.
