Help Render Problem!!!

Post by Carnage7p »

ok so i am making this title sequence for a golf camp. it looks great when i play it in after effects however, when i render it out with compression set on none, and change color settings to millions of colors+, i notice that the rendered video is not as clean looking as it is in after effects.

here is a screenshot of the image in after effects. below it is a screenshot of the same title in the rendered video. you can clearly see a quality change. i have rendered it out several times.

Looks a bit like interlace lines, but that doesn't make much sense. Or does it?

It does look like interlacing! Be careful whenever you select VIDEO settings for render that it's not automatically creating interlaced frames. Are there settings maybe to change it in the render dialogue box?

It may be interlaced, but I've noticed a definite issue with text generated in AE and then rendered out to DV. Uncompressed AVI seems to be better, but there is a definite quality loss. I always felt it was related to working with Bitmap fonts instead of vector fonts..

hmm thanks for the info. i will keep that in mind. what is a program that you recommend for more advanced text generation? premiere pro won't do the job for me, and i am afraid that a 3d program may be my only other option, however i don't feel like forking out a few hundred for 3ds max, and i have no desire for the free programs.

The problem is your setting your color setting to Millions of Color +. Stop. lol. Just leave it or set it to Millions of Colors. I think what happens is that somehow it's trying to 'upsample' the colors so to speak. Sort of like if you have a 96kbps mp3 and then you try to save it as a 192kpbs mp3. It just doesn't work. So leave your color settings to millions of colors and you will be fine.
