im sure you can find plenty of people who would be glad to help out on a soundtrack, you probably wont be able to get the Phil Harmonic Orchestra or anything but find someone with a little mixing studio and some instruments and you'll be able to come up with something pretty good.

So far for the weapons for the movie, i have real, used WWII rifles. I have M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, German Mauser, 1903 Springfield, and some Russian Rifle. And the best thing is they all have correct bayonets and they can fire live rounds.

Whoah that makes stuff a lot easier! Dirt hits will be easy but you might want to be carefull with live rounds. On second thought you might not want to use them, but the rifles will be cool. Could you post some pics? I'd be interested in making one based off pictures...

We will not be using live rounds, we make blanks for the movie or add muzzle flashes on the computer.... I will try to get some pics on asap.

Be very careful, blanks can kill too. I would recomend using the guns just for props. I'm sure there a several topics on dirt hits. And a really simple way for dirt hits is just using firecrackers.

If you have an air compressor you could use that. Or the old board and pivot method.

Ouch...

I usually stay away from explosives 1) My budget is...well...next to nothing and 2) There are easier, safer and cheaper ways to do it. Board method is the easiest but hardest to do, because the board has to be kept out of frame.

i could not get that to work when i tried it, does the soil have to be looser like sand or something? I couldnt even get just a decent amount of dirt to fly up, maybe enough for a bullet hit but nothing like a mortar explosion.

If you hit the board with a sledgehammer, It'll be much bigger and more like a mortar. Anyone know how to get a huge explosion?

ya Nitroglycerin LOL, small fireworks or matchheads works well, i made small "explosives" (for movies and the likes) by cuttin the eads off of matches and putting them in a enclosed space and i just lit them with electric fuse, its not that hard, but coordinating the hit is a pain in the a*s!

I might try tests with fireworks and such.
For cheap bullet hits I sometimes use those popper things you throw at the ground. It makes a little poof, and I'm trying to make it bigger.

http://www.onlinetalentdirectory.com/ if your looking for professional actors.

Good Free editing software? That will be hard to find. You should invest in something like Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Express if your budget is around $200. They both have color correction and chroma key, which might be good tools to have.

For greenscreen you could do better, they're good for editing but not the best at greenscreen.
