Well, I finally came up with an idea that I liked for a short film. I'm going to call it Dead Call (the banner is in my signature).
It'll be about a guy who starts to get creepy phone calls one night, and soon finds that there is somebody else in his house, watching him.
I'm starting the script now, it won't be that long. Anyway, I thought I'd keep you updated if your interested.
I think the I'll put a kind of bluish tint on the film to make it look more eerie and dramatic.

Here's a little 16 second clip to test color correction, audio levels and some motion blur effects. The original footage was really grainy, so I adjusted the whites, mids and blacks so it outlined the person more.
The voice on the phone was recorded from a real phone set to Speaker mode.
Voila: (Quicktime required)
Low (Modem, DSL)
Medium (Cable, T1)

Why don't you come up with some other plot than just him inside of the house watching him, I've heard that in so many scary stories it's not even funny. I have an ending for you, but I just don't want to give it away, I'll pm it to you when I can get it into a complete thought. It'll be about a guy who starts to get creepy phone calls one night, and soon finds that there is somebody else in his house, watching him.
And the bluish tent is too bluish, tone it down some so you can see a little more colors, right now it just looks like Black Hawk Down when their on the Mogadishu Mile.

Good idea, maj barnes. That would be a good ending. I'd just have to incorporate another character into the story.
Mean while, here's something another clip I made tonight:

You BASTARD! YOU SCARED THE LIVING s*** OUT OF ME! Now I'm going to be looking behind my back for the next hour.
Love the camera angles how they are all slanted.
And thanks for the compliment!

Oh. Man. I jumped even after reading maj barne's comment (so I was expecting the unexpected). Garrh.
Nice job man, I can't wait to see the finished film.

Yeah, the music at the beginning is called "Foreboding" and it came with my editing software. The "jump" music is from track 4 of The Village.Gyro wrote:Recognized the Village music, very nice though.
Thanks for your replies. I think I'll try an original score, but I doubt I can make it (the music) scary enough. Working on a mini-site for the movie right now with more info.
