The Scout (WWII Miniseries)

Post by maj_barnes »

This is a little video I did while I was bored, so here you guys go. I liked it alot enough to make a little series out of it. This is on a geocities account so if alot of people download it it may be out of business for a hour. It just stars me; the next one I just finished filming so It'll be done soon, enjoy!

Pretty cool. Though I found the picture a little distorted. Widescreen is a bit too wide.

It was distorted because I used a puny 1.3 megapixel camera, and yea I noticed that too about the widescreen I'll fix that in the next one. And to help the distortedness, I don't watch it in fullscreen instead I watch it at 100% or 50% zoom, it looks a little better.

Looks nice,
The grenade looked good. Just, those animation muzzle flashes looked phony. I think hey last for 4 or 6 frames right? Try to bring em down to 2 or 3...then they ll look good.

Overall, it was pretty good.
When will the enemy within come out?

CAn;t wait to see part 2...I did an identical serier to this as well..."The Lost Sergeant" series which had 3 one to two minute epsiodes.

Yea I did notice that the muzzle flashes did stay on a bit too long. I'll fix that in episode 3, I fixed the first episode and finished the second so here you go:
http://barnesandbarnes.tripod.com/The_Scout1.wmv
And the second one:
http://barnesandbarnes.tripod.com/The_Scout2.wmv
The Enemy Within won't come out for awhile because of my actors have alot of engagments before this came up, so we won't start filming till a later date; but during Spring Break (next week) we will be filming a short WWII movie for my history class, so maybe that'll hold you over for a while. And that 1.3 megapixel camera is a pain in the butt, I only have a 4 mb card for it so I can only film 30 seconds of footage at a time, and I don't have rechargeable batteries for it so I always have to carry 6 batteries with me to hold me over (it eats them up like candy). Also, try not to make fun of my German helment in the second episode, I haven't put anything over the MP helment so I got a bucket from Holloween, and the Mp-40 is a vacum extention and a ruler taped together. Also the "P-38" is a Beretta cap gun; I got these things at the last second, come on!

No, sorry don't have MSN; I know the Schindler's List thing didn't come out too good in the second one (damn shadow!).

Edit:

ok...its sorta awkward how it ends. Other than that..the carbine flashes were better. lol....better off with no helmet. The mp40 looked ok from a distance. Unless ur a history buff, you probably wouldnt notice it.
Im assuming ur in the us right? spend 15 bucks and buy a plastic mp40 springer off ebay. There cheap and look good.

Yea I'm trying to end each episode with some kind of cliff hanger, this one didn't come out as well. And besides, I like my Holloween Bucket! I'll try to find one off Ebay, haven't went there in awhile.

Edit:
Also I didn't notice how bad that helment looked until I looked at that only, instead of the action:
I look like a retard!
And yes, Florida is usally in the US.

Pretty good considering you were using a tiny camera - lol I'd like to think you're buying a new one before you start in on the real thing...
