Widescreen capture with Analogue?

I was just wondering if you can capture widescreen footage in analogue:

Gear list;
Sony DCR-DVD91E Camcorder (shoots in 16:9 true widescreen)
Magix Movie Edit Pro 2005 (supports widescreen capture)
Leadtek WinFast VC100 XP capture card (max resolution. 768 x 576)

I'm pretty sure that its the capture card I'm using if its possible to capture 16:9 in analogue, because for PAL widescreen the resolution has to be 720 x 400 (1:85:1 Anamorphic)

Could anyone please help me out on this, Cheers!
