Ok I got zombied up last night, and we are working on a tutoral right now, but to give people faith that they will see it, here are some pictures from the event. they are off the complex zombie, and not the simple zombie, because the video of the simple zombie is a bit rubbish, becuase I couldn't see how it was getting filmed, oh well, more to come.

I would like to make 1 suggestion. Make your face paler (not sure how...)

and remember, on indoor shots everything normally looks alot more colour rich (including skin tones)

To make yourself look paler, simply use flour. Looks good too.

I'll get the instructions up today. The best way to look pale is to use white makeup on the cheek boans and such, I'll of corse put up a few more pictures with the instructions.

My friend printed off a good tutorial on zombie make up. I'll try to put it on this weekend and post some pics.

You could always get franco to lend you some makeup. I mean if he'll let you... but yes whitining the cheack bones is a good way to palin the face. You could also make dark circles around the eyes mabe... i dont know i just took theatere arts in 8th grade :P. I just leard some basic stuff on make-up. Like how to make burise's and blood and scrapes... but that all.

Here are some suggestions:

use a pale, (eg. flour) powder as the makeup basement

use red rings around/on the eyelids

use dark shades of makeup along the cheek bones,

draw lots of little cracks on your lips

finally add blessures, using strawberry jam or something

You need to be paler, and when you shade, dont paint on lines, actually get the make up on your fingers and shade it in, as you would if you were doing a lead pencil drawing, makes much better results. see here: http://www.freewebs.com/nightmaresinc/photogallery.htm
the shading just needs work, and make it much paler, work on the teeth too.

Thanks!, Another thing is to make sure that the blood is almost browny,
depends what kind of zombie you wanna be, a well decomposed one? or a freshie?
I'll have pics of both up soon as I feel like using dad as a dummy and trying both lol.
watch this space!

here's one I did.

not bad, but it looked more like a halloween mask than an actual dead person.
share with us how you did it as its very good either way.
a tutorial perhaps?

yeah.

Uh its just supposed to be a Romero type Zombie that is what he wanted if you have seen some of his sketches. Um its just a gelatine appliance with some tissue and latex build up and then painted with RMG's (rubber mask grease paints)

RE: yeah.

i find that the best stuff to get, when you are creating realistic looking gashes would probably be gel-10 silicon makeup. it is about 10-20 dollars for a small pot of it and also an added extra 10-20 dollars for every flesh tone that you get. but i think that there are pigment kits that you can add yourself for about 10-20 dollars. i think it's only very expensive when you have to buy it in large quantitys, for many actors.
but i am looking for an effect that mimicks the gel-10 look, i'm a pretty good artist when it comes to deadly gashes and wounds, but i am doing a very large group of about thirty students and i need a very realistic, but cost effective way to zombify my people. please help me out!
