samurai movie idea

Post by sourceoferror »

tell me what you think of this storyline for a samurai type movie:

(btw: A and B are people)

A and B live in the same village and are young. the vilage is attacked by raiders. out of revenge and anger, both join clans which raid villages. years later, there is a clan battle between A and B's clans. A and B meet each other and begin to fight, but it isn't very spirited because they were once friends (this is where they begin to question the actions their clans are taking) more clan guys from A's team burst in and capture B. A stands and watches, but feels bad about it. later, A helps B escape (becoming alienated from his clan). A and B are traveling. B's clan meets them. swords are drawn, everyone is confused. B's clan moves to attack A (recognizing him as one of the prominent enemies of the clan). however B interceeds and defends A (now A is alienated from his own clan). the two battle B's old clan for awhile, then are killed. B who belonged to that clan is killed last

this a,b thing is confusing, we don't have names yet.

It could work if you do the neccassary research into how the Samurai worked and if your actors know any JiuJutsu to get the accuracy.

Sounds good in theroy, but what about things like the set? If you want towns or something, how the hell are you going to reconstruct a town in that time period?

most of the scenes for this would be shot in the woods and scenes in tows would be kept to a minimum, which we will probably just do digitally without actually constructing much. but anyway, how does the plot it self sound?

Sounds good keep doing more writing for it, maybe make it a lot longer. But in all it sounds good. :lolsign:

My advice, dont try to make a complicated and detailled setting. If you film alot of nature and maybe a piece of a building that looks old it is good enough to suggest the sumarai setting

Plot is good, revenge is very common in movies but it is well though out.

ya it works out but there might be a small glitch somewhere in there, because samurai are totally devoted to their duty, and i doubt they would forget their duty for a friend, it seems normal in our society but back then duty was before almost everything. it would be good but make it brothers because that would make more sense, few samurai would go as far as forgettin their duty for jus a friend, make it a brother or somethin even closer if you can think of it.

That sounds like the best way to go about it.

Give the picture major colors, like they did in the Last Samurai, like when they first fight the Samurai's (blue tinted). Try that, they should give it a good mood.
