Smooth Slo-mo???
first post... yay....
i don't have a camera that you can adjust the frame rate with... so i can't really do slowmotion shots that well, are there any apps out there that can smoothly render a slo motion shot without making it look all choopy?
thanks.

Well you're right on in that to do truly great slo-mo you have to have a camera capable of high frame rate. The best you can do is to get an NLE that does frame-blending with the slow mo. I use Final Cut Pro 4.0 and it's frame blending looks really nice. Even though I'm shooting in normal 29.92NTSC it looks pretty damn good.

Sigh, it pains me to admit this, but I've found that WMM 2 does a fairly decent job at slow motion. Mind you it only does it at one speed, and you have to put up with the rest of the shittyness of the program, but it's a low-cost alternitive.

The way to go is get an HD 60fps camera, but I don't see much other choice you have but to interpolate the film to 15fps, or whatever speed you want.
Standard NTSC is 29.97, by the way.shawneous wrote:Even though I'm shooting in normal 29.92NTSC it looks pretty damn good.
