How do I remove old startup programs from the startup list?

I have alot of unticked and removed programs in my MSConfig startup list, mainly abolished spyware and adware cr**, how can totally delete this stuff from the list so I don't have to see their filthy names?

open uninstall programs, and see if you can find it their. Many times I run an adaware scan, and then the stuff that it says it can't delete, I find in the programs list and click uninstall. At times if this doesn't work, I have to start XP in safe mode and delete the files directly.

Don't use MSConfig for obvios reasons...try typing "services.msc" in the run prompt and go from their.
