Synthetic Voice

Post by Epsilon »

I'm sure most, if not all, of you have been to Disneyland and watched the Main Street Electrical Parade. Remember the pre-parade announcement with the synthetically altered voice? I cannot figured out how they did it! Some kind of voice alteration generator, I know. But if anyone knows what they actually used or how it's done, that'd be great. It's just bothering me lately.

I suppose I could try e-mailing Disney, but I doubt they'd give me a solid reference. That's my next step if nobody knows. :)

Yeah, I wouldn't think too many people would know. It's something that has left me wondering and annoyed not know how it's done! I still couldn't find any references that explained anything similar.

It's called vocoder. I have software that does it, u simply take a clip of ur voice, assign a synthetic style, and it processes it. It turns out sounding like a a robot voice with a melody. Wierd, but cool.
