FTP server...blues

Post by Truggy »

Ok, i have made an FTP server. But im having problems. So i downloaded this thing called GuildFTP. So i followed the help file, and i made group names. First it told me to make "ANON (group)" with the username "anon , with a password of anon"...So i did that, no problem. Then again i made a logon name called "upload" with the password "upload"...then i made one called "admin" which im not tellin u the password :P...Anyway, its on dial up connection right now, because i dont have an ethernet card in it. so when i go to connect, i can connect, login as admin, then heres my problem. When i login as admin i can do everything remotely. But when i try and upload say...an 850KB ....My other computer is less than 3 feet from me. I look over, it reads that my client IP from my other comp is on the network, but then it changes my status to Idle, and gives my old computer (the one im tryin to be the server) the BSOD....Any suggestions on how to make this damn thing work? Thanks

ps - Grant if your gonna post something, post something that will help me.

1: Learn How 2 Use It!
2: Ask your host, that's what they are there for...

Hmmmmm what is the error code on the BSOD.. it's entirely possible that you host is blocking ports, they may not want you running servers....

The host is my computer...guildFTP means running it off your system....My old computer is running on dial up tho, that could be why, but i connect fine....Every path is right, permissions are set for admin and stuff.....No clue on the error code, havnt connected to it yet....but this is just frustrating
