Bad Karma24's WWI stuff?

Post by Towels42 »

So anyway, upon finding it, I took great interest in Karma's avatar. Really, I'm interested in your [Bad Karma24] project -- and decided to ask a few things...

For instance, how did you put together the costume? It's very nice and well-done. (I mean, just looking at the picture drove me to create an entire new topic about it, lol.) Also, how many uniforms are you planning on using? Really, if it's a 'stuck behind enemy lines' sort of thing, you wouldn't need as many as, let's say, 'super-awesome trench fighting.' ...And do you have a German uniform made yet?

There have been so many WWII movies made [especially from people on this forum], but a WWI project is fresh and quite interesting.

Another question, though... the rifle in your picture doesn't look like a bolt-action. I could be mistaken, but it looks a lot like an M1 instead of a Springfield 1903 or an Enfield rifle. Well, it doesn't really matter, lol.

(Sorry about all the questions, though.)

I'm not even sure what you're doing, but I'm already quite interested in your project...

I don't believe he is making any project. Remember, bad karma24 is a history reenactor. Though his avatar makes him look like a mannequin!

...With that avatar, he's basically *obligated* to create some sort of movie..................... Because, uh...... okay, this thread ain't gonna last too long unless someone starts talking about celery...

I enjoy celery with peanut butter as well. Makes for a good, healthy snack when I run out of Pringle's and Cheez-Its.

First off, thanks for the comments and the thread (my own thread... wow :P). The uniform in question is actually an early World War II one. Which of course explains the M1 as opposed to the 1903 as many men began acquiring them early on, especially men going to Europe. The costume is a mix and match of mine and my friend's stuff. The helmet, gun, webgear and gas mask are his. Not that I don't have these things myself, but since we were at his house it was just more convenient.

We have some German uniforms scrounged together, but none of them are "authentic", as the parts are taken from various time periods and countries that look German. Since we don't reenact German, we don't have a complete kit for it. For weapons we have a K98 (real) and two MP-40s (one blank firing, one airsoft).

As for a project, a WWI movie would be interesting, but I simply don't have the stuff for it. We're kind of working on a WWII project, but we're extremely busy with other stuff, mainly school (taking 5 AP classes sucks, don't do it).

If I ever decide to seriously pursue a project, I'll keep you guys updated.

I guess I should make my own WWI movie. The only way I can afford to do so, however, is to use sock puppets...

(Oh... and Bad Karma24 joined on my birthday... how exciting. Actually, wait... that's not really spectacular at all. Nevermind.)

A WW1 flick should be quite easy 2 do reeli...

Anyone seen Journey's End? Or even the script for it? - it's a masterpiece and it almost all takes place between bout 8 men in a dugout. Jus convert half a room to look like a dugout, buy a couple more uniforms and ur sorted!

My little sister was called Julia, the English decendant of the name Julius, She was born on Julius Caesar's birthday in a month he names after himself (July).

AHA! beat that!

Alternatively just ignore it

My friend's writing a WWII movie right now, and he's gathering German uniforms for it. It might be a while because we're all busy with school.
