The clicking noise you hear is the built in popup stopper...

How could you turn it off a year ago, when it's a new feature in SP2?

No the programs like Excel / access etc come with Office, the home/pro is the OS, the big defference is in the networking, XP Home does not support any protocols except TCP/IP, doesn't support connecting to an Active Directory Domain for server validation of credentials and secure channel log ons, doesn't include kerberos - one thing I can't answer is if it supports NTFS and file level security, but I believe it does., never really played with Home but the biggest differences are in the support for the Domain model and Active Directory client support for locating network resources...

You can find a lot of the pro stuff in the home version, you just have to dig around on the system CD and find it to install.

Always look into your needs before you buy an OS. I payed over a hundred more for XP Pro, and all I really needed was Home. Don't be lured by the Home is for people who don't know what they are doing ideology, because that's not the case.

Yeah. Profesinal just gives you a few more programs and such you may or may not need. Always look carefully into it.
