Why rip sounds of a game? When you can take it from another movie? I mean your making a movie it would seem only right to take it from a movie. And who would really notice that you took a single gun shot from a movie? Ecspecially if you added aditional sounds to it to fit your movie properly. In that right its kinda like a new sound lol. I am just wondering why game?

Cause the MPAA will bust your butt a lot harder when it comes to ripping films. Games are kinda out and everywhere.

plus, with a PC game, it's alot easier to get the sound effects because you can just go and copy the exact file, and you don't have to worry about getting any crappy background noise that you would probably get in a film.
Also, on the legal side, ripping the sounds out of a video game is probably illegal, but really, how can they tell the difference between one gunshot and another, especially if there are alot of guns going off?

It is always illegal considering it is copywritten.2nd_Recon wrote:Also, on the legal side, ripping the sounds out of a video game is probably illegal

2nd Recon, u mentioned you wanted to know how to build a silenced pistol? heres a lil tutorial. (here's how it looks http://www.geocities.com/flashburnfilms ... pistol.jpg )
1. take your gun (i used a water pistol) and glue a nut (as in nut and bolt) in the muzzle. your silencer will screw into this. you may have to drill out the existing muzzle. picture: http://www.geocities.com/flashburnfilms/misc/barrel.jpg
2. get a small piece of PVC pipe, the right diameter for your silencer proportional to your pistol. cut it to size.
3. get the appropraite size nut for your bolt and add a nut, a washer the same diameter as your piper and another nut in that order. it should now look like this [--0|0----- (where 0 is the nut and | is the washer)
4. get some putty and block up one end of the pipe about 2 centimeters from the end of the pipe. this will give the bolt something to hold on to inside the pipe.
5. before the putty dries embed the end of the screw with the head inside the putty (firmly). make sure the washer sits flat with the end of that pipe as it forms the cap of your silencer. superglue the washer down. picture: http://www.geocities.com/flashburnfilms/misc/bolt.jpg
6. at the other end of the pipe superglue another washer onto the end. picture: http://www.geocities.com/flashburnfilms/misc/join.jpg
7. the silencer should now be complete. you should be able to screw the silencer into the pistol. the biggest issue is getting it straight and i'd recommend using a small level when building it. spray the whole thing the appropriate colour and you're done! picture: http://www.geocities.com/flashburnfilms ... lencer.jpg
here's a final photo

hope this helps. there are some photos of the pistols in action on my website in the production pics section

You could always buy a beretta with silencer for 20 bucks off www.airsplat.com (it's under spring pistols)

yeh its pretty stupid. i use waterpistols that are heavily modified and i also look around garage sales and stuff. heaps of people try to chuck out BB guns from 20yrs ago when they werent illegal when their kids leave home so you can get some good stuff. i got a .44 magnum and a colt detective special this way
