I like most all of big instrumental orchestra music. I would very much like to include such music in my movies, but I cannot get around copyright laws nor create my own...

Anyway, I guess to spruce up conversation, what do you people prefer: the music from 'Lord of the Rings' or the original 'Star Wars' trilogy? Though I did quite like the score from 'LOTR,' the music from 'Star Wars' is classic. (I regard 'Star Trek' as being better than 'Star Wars' in every way *except* for the music. John Williams wins again.)

Never made the connection I guess. I saw the credits for both movies, but never thought that they were the same guy.

Well there were a lot of Italian crew members on "The Good The Bad And The Ugly", I can't imagine why...

I definitly think that all of tarantinos soundtracks are amazing, but if i had to with the instrumental soundtracks theres no doubt that The Good, the bad and the ugly is the best

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I wanted to add the music from 'Superman' to my list... That's an awesome movie.

I love the Road to Perdition soundtrack. The soundtrack to The Fugitive isn't too bad also.

Quentin Tarentino has an excelent taste in music. The kill Bill and Pulp Fiction Soundtracks are awsome. Tarentino "casts songs like he casts characters"

Also, O Brother, Where art thou, has a great soundtrack.

Yes, yes it is.

Well anyways, I ordered the soundtrack to Cutthroat Isalnd and it just came yesterday and I haven't stoped listening to it since!! I think..no wait...it is better than Hook, and it's the best soundtrack I've ever heard! There isn't dull or repetitive moment on the entire CD, and the CD 70 minutes long!! I highly recomed that film music fans go and by the CD now!

You can click hear to hear some sample tracks if you want.

My favorite, because I listen to it all the time is: Band of Brothers, by Michael Kamen. I know it's not a movie, but in no way is it a mini series!

I've changed my mind since then back in 2004. My favourite soundtrack by far is The Godfather: Part II by Nino Rota. However, there's some underrated scores like Total Recall which I really like :D

Most of my favorites are ones that others have listed, anything Hans Zimmer, Star Wars, etc.

But to top my list are my top two: Last of the Mohicans and the original 1969 version of The Planet of the Apes. The music made the movie (good thing to because Charleton Heston sucks at acting!)
