A stupid windows question...closing background programs

Post by U.S.Amateurfilmaker »

Being a pretty advanced windows user this is embarrassing to ask but... How do i manage what programs automatically start-up in the background when Windows boots up? Only reason being because my desktop takes a full minute to load, and considering I just reformatted my HD and re-installed windows, spyware, fragmentation, etc. aren't the issue.

Yeah, but beware, because spyware and adware try to boot stuff up again, so try resetting it every week or else startup programs will build up again.

anything without a harddrive location(c:\yousuck\thisfile) can be removed without worring about anything...you can actually uncheck all of the items without too many problems, but something will then start to bother you....

If you have backups of all of your stuff dont be scared to jack around with your computer, it is the best way to learn...
