Composer available for paid or unpaid work.

Post by david_Orrick »

Hi all,

Name is david Orrick and I'm a musician with 15 years exp. based in the UK. I write mainly with films in mind, but have collaborated with a friend of mine and we gained a release on a UK label last year albeit in a different genre. I have had experience in filmscore previously back in the mid to late 90's as well as other areas in media.
I am looking for any work available as paid or unpaid work (credits) and can adapt for any piece required. The money is not really important; its purely for the love of visuals with sound that appeals.
Enough of my banter - i have a site at http://www.davidorrick.com which contains more info and soundclips for your ears.
Feel free to contact me or post here with any questions. Thanks in advance.

Why would anyone want to pay you, now you've said you'll work unpaid? :hmm:

The reason I posted both is that in my exp. one thing can lead to another and visa versa - just like some peoples films on the many fora. But as I said.. its purely for the love of visuals with sound that appeals.

The offer is there if anyone needs a score etc. or a helping hand in that area. :)

That's good to know. Since I have no musical talents I can't get my own music. It's a good to know there are some people willing to do this stuff, because it's hard to find.

I did start to score for a low budget war film about 8 months back, but alas the film was put on hold for one reason or another, so the audio side sits shelved for the time being.

Hasnt he written audio for the gaming side?
I cant really say I write like other people as it really depends on the project. Its an individual thing :)

Tell you what Gyro, when I get home after this weekend I will dig out the tracks I had and upload them for streaming, and let you know when they are up.

Well I have an old movie what needs scoreing, that I have been trying to get scored for almost a year now. If you want to check it out you can download it here, http://68.57.123.32/movies/Retribution.wmv It seems that I can't get people to score it mainly because its 43 min long. And I am just sick of the ripped off soundtrack score that it has at the moment.

Hi David. I'm John and I'm seriously thinking about having an original score to my next film which will be a war film about the battle of 1812. Well anyways, I've gone to your site and have listened to a couple of your sample tracks (I'm on 56k, so I can't listen to them all), but all the tracks I've listened to are very constrained, and for my next film I will need a very "Big" sounding score. So I was woundering, what tracks on yor site have that "Big" hollywood type sound? And if there arn't any, would you be able to create some if the time comes?

Thanks,
My films;
