What video making equiptment do you have?

Post by Jass Films »

I was curious, because in the movie business you have you be creative what you use for video making, what do you own specifically for video making?

I own.
1 x Mic
1 x Headphones
7 x reflectors
3 x halogen lights
1 x tripod
1 x Canon MVX150i camera
2 x batteries
1 x Cart as a dolly, similar to what the mechanics use for transporting heavy toolboxes and bands use for transporting amps.
1 x Apple eMac, specifically for editing due to the large amount of editing jobs i get. (80gb, CD-RW and DVD recorder + player. with final cut pro 4 and Apple Dvd Studio :) )

I think thats it, all in which i only got this year, cost me a fortune.

I own
1x Canon MVX150i
4x Halogen Lights
1x Tripod
1x 12 foot Jib
1x headaphones
1x 14" monitor
1x HP P4 computer with 250gb harddisk, 1,5gb RAM, 1,7 ghz processor, DVD recorder, Adobe Premiere Pro,
Adobe After Effects 6.5, Adobe Photoshop CS....

This is pretty much off-topic, but i have a question for you... I too own a canon mvx150i and it's a great camcorder, but the microphone in the camera picks up the sound from the camera (very irritating)... which external microphone do you have?

I have a sony, but the camera only records stereo, so it only records sound on the left, which is a pain, but what i want to do is get a mini disc recordor, and record the sound seperatly. Or get a mic to go in the advanced accessory shoe. May cost a lot though.

If I bought the Canon DM-50 microphone and put it in the advanced accessory shoe, would that remove the sound of my camera in the background?

Sound is always peoples problem. My list seems small, but then I don't have all those reflectors, and I didn't list headphones.

I had no choice when it came to getting an external mic, because my in camera one has EXTREMLY loud tape noise. But its gone now so im happy.

Anyone considering getting a camera in Canon's ZR line take note!

You own 7 actors! WOW, I would have no place to put them, do you keep them in a shed or something?
