We all like our soundtrack to fit the film right? Shots cut in time to the music etc?

But when does a sequence stop becoming "film put to music really well" and become a "music video"?

A good example of putting music to a film is the Biocyte shootout in Mission Impossible 2 (still my favourite film shootout to date). Are there any films that rely too heavily on the music and the visuals are centred around the score like a visualisation?

Yeah well, luckily Hans Zimmer came up with some damned good music for The Rock, so I didn't mind much.

well As long as the entire movie is not cut to music then its not a music video, it doesn't bug me if an action movie has action sequences are cut to music, as long as it is good.

the soundtrack itself is a character in the movie and must fit which ever scenes/moods it is within
