Easy 3D effects

Post by DoDGe »

Hey! I havent tried this yet, so Im not exactly sure it will work, but if you think of it, it should. I thought of this just as I got a link for HyperCam as I was playing on the half life model viewer.
This will show you how to add a charactor - (an mdl file) into a video.
You will need some mdl files which work with Half Life Model Viewer. Usual half life models work best :P. Half life Model Viewer and a screen recording file - Click here for page - (download HyperCam) thanks adam for link.
Firstly open the model viewer and load up a model. Change the background colour, so it is different to the characters colour (so the background can be changed), actions of the model and/or the speed to make it look like they are being shot, etc. Record the model doing any action, with HyperCam, and then save it as an avi or something. Put this into your movie with Animation shop or premiere (I aint used premiere, so I dont know how to do this on it), make it so the background of the model, doing the action is transparent, then put it over the video, save it, and u got ur own model on a video :D
Anyone feel free to copy, change and use this info :D

i know. of course i was going to tell. well im my opinion i think its easier anyway. you can change everything with the dynamic lighting and such. its complicated, but takes time to learn. just use milkshape 3d, decompile the model with kratistoes decompiler, open the reference and the animation, and record. i just find that easier for me because for some reason i have problems with hyper snap. and this just seems really 2nd nature to me ( for the most part ):P
