yeah, me too. I am really confused as to why you can't animate the mask shape.
I do that stuff alot. What do you mean you can stretch the masks but you can't animate the points?
When you stretch the mask, are you pulling on the line between 2 points? I swear you can move the points around and key frame them, so as you move in the time line the mask will actually change shape. You can even add more points to the mask as you go along if you need them.

after you make the shape of the mask click m to make it a mask then click the stopwath little button thing next to the title of the mask and then you should be able to go anywhere you want in the video and change the mask

got it working - there was a bug in my install. when i reformatted & reinstalled AE it fixed itself :raisedeyebrow:

i do heaps of AE stuff just like i said, there was a bug in the install, works fine now

You should reformat every once in a while anyway, it was probably good for his computer.
