Ok, converted to MPEG...how do i get it to read?

Ok, thanks to lethegirth7's help i got my movie file to go into MPEG format. but Samsung dvd player will not read saying "this disc cannot be played"....What is going on with it and can anyone help me? Is there a certain file i must put on the disc to get it to read? To encode it i selected
MPEG-1 , 2x CD-rom NTSC 352 x 240

The other option was

MPEG-1, 2x CD-ROM PAL 352 x 288

I dunno if i did something wrong so let me know

You need to make the MPEG1 into a video CD, use something like nero burning rom to do this.

kk, use a CD burning program and choose make VCD. Its the only way to make movie files play in DVD players and PS1's, and dreamcasts, and computers.... (well, apart from DVD anyways)

But, not all DVD players play VCD's (mine doesnt

)

Mine won't play VCD but will play SVCD go figure huh? But Nero is about the easiest to use to output a proper VCD/SVCD formatted disk. A few DVD players will play an MPEG raw on CD, but not nearly as amy as will play a VCD/SVCD disk

To create a proper VCD you need to do 2 things :

1. Create a VCD compliant MPEG1 file.
2. Write that file to a CDR using the VCD format.

It sounds like you have done step 1 ok but you have just written that file to a CDR as a normal data file. You need to write it using a program that understands you are trying to create a VCD. As mentioned above Nero is easy to use.

A VCD is *not* just a CDR with video files on it. It is a special format and must be created using software that understands the VCD format.
