How good is Poser for film CGI?

Can you only create characters in it or any object you want? Can you make your own or only use presets?

I have a demo of Poser and it is really good, u can use presets but u dont have to and it looks awsomely real. But just one thing i dont know how to do, umm.... those things i know it i have just temp forgot. the things that go between the movements. and it starts with the letter p. i must seem so stupid right now.
