you'll need something like adobe encore (I use it, is good, easy, but f*cking exspensive).
I don't know other software, but there has got to be some

I'm not sure you can use WMV as the source, you can take an MPEG or AVI and make a VCD or SVCD with it using Nero burning rom if you have the MPEG encoder plugin for Nero. Nero is a lot cheaper than encore and will convert to the tream needed for VCD/SVCD. Again I'm not sure if it can be done with a WMV as the source, since it needs to be encoded as a MPEG stream for the DVD player to read. Also be aware some players will not handle the VCD/SVCD format, so even if you get it encoded it may not play on all players.

i had that same problem a long long time ago, first you have to convert your wmv to mpeg and you can't use the nero mpeg encoder or your audio will be faster than your video, so you get the TMPGEncoder which is freeware and is downloadable here http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_main.html then you can burn it using nero burning rom which they have a free trial on their site or you can get sweet cd burning software at http://www.acard.com/eng/ called Ha! CD Burner Manager. Have Fun!

Can't you just re-open the project file and encode it as an MPEG 2? Then all you have to do is slap it on the CD-R and many DVD players will read just the raw file. At least many foreign made (Korean, Chinese, etc...) ones do.

I'm using Nero, and it does the encoding from WMV to whatever is supposed to run iff the DVD! It does SVCDs as well for playback in DVD recorders. It's not even the full version of Nero, but the freebie version that came with the DVD-RW I got.

EDIT: 2 attempts, and I'm getting a promlem when it starts writing! Could be the media I'm using, here goes again!
