Some PC Questions for a new PC...
Which Ram is better? DDR or SDRAM?
What is AMD64?
When AMD has a Processor model number like 64BIT 3200+, does that 3200+ mean it's 3.2 Ghz?
I'm planning on getting a GeforceFX 5950, good choice?

DDR uses SDRAM chips on the cards, but generally runs faster than SDRAM on a DIMM package. Go DDR.
AMD 64 is AMD's 64 bit procesor, Intel's hasn't been released yet.
Generally the 3200+ is a model number, we have a 2800 here that actually BENCHES OUT ABOUT 2.6
Don't know on the gfx CARD...

AMD 64's are really good processors. Mine flies through renders! It will go even faster if they start making more 64-bit software.
And yea, 3200+ is used as a refernce point to compare to Intel's processors. 3200+ = 3.2 Ghz. Even though the AMD 64 3200+ runs at 2.0 GHx, it is a much more efficent processor than an intel, so it performs better with less speed.

Yeah, the architecture of the Athlon has changed so dramatically that its not enough to measure it in Ghz anymore. That's why the 3200+ (for example) system is used. You can compare it to 3.2Ghz, even though, like U.S.Amateurfilmaker said, runs at just over 2Ghz.
As for the GeforceFX 5950. Its pretty much the best Geforce on the market (excluding the 5950 Ultra). But at the moment Radeons are leading the race, especially the 9800XT, or even the model it superceded - 9800Pro. The second comes at a lot cheaper price (almost half) to the GF FX5950, and is capable of much better things.

PC Prices are sooooooo damn cheap here for certain brands. All Nvidia and Intel stuff is dirt, dirt cheap. A Geforce 4 MX440 RETAIL is $20 while a Radeon9800XT is a whopping $600
a 5950 REtail is $350 and seeing as I get my stuff wholesale, it should be cheaper.
What is the standard for ram nowadays? Will all my games run very well with 1 gig of ram or would I need more to compete with todays standard of gaming?
