Does the Geforce FX5600 256 Meg come with VIVO?

Post by Vamp »

I'm going to get a PC meant for editing, and I'm going to need to get a good 3D Card, I'm looking at the FX5600 256 meg, will I be able to use it as a capture card?

Do you know if it's a good card? I'm also looking around for the specs I should get.

3.2 GHZ is what I'm aiming for

1 gig ram or the maximum the motherboard can handle (what is the maximum of most mbs)?

250 or 500 gigs HD?

3 or 4 gig is the max most mobo's can handle, but they usually have to be identical sticks. 5600 ain't a bad card, but for value for money the 9600XT radeons are looking good (but still more expensive). Geforce's can't handle Direct X9 games as well, and if you want anti-aliasing or anisotropic filtering, Radeon's are heaps better. If you want geforce get a Winfast Leadtek brand. Most (but not all - so check) have VIVO, and 5600's are now replaced by 5700's.

Is 1 gig of ram a decent amount, or should I get more?

My GeForce FX 5600 256meg can do Pixel Shader 2.0 and all other DX9 effects.

But just not too smoothly. (3.06GHz P4, 512RAM too)
