Alright, I just got Adobe Premiere 7 and first I say, Amazing... But, here comes the idiotic question... I can't even find out how to fade in and out of clips, I could use some help thank you.

Well, in 6.5, just go to "File > New > Black Video". Drop this right in front of the video you want to fade into. Then put a transition (cross dissolve, etc.) between the two. You've got a fade...

It's probably way different in Premiere Pro though...

No, thats the way people do it who don't know how.
Here is the real stuff:
On the left side there is a little traingle, press on it
Your track will expand and there will apear a red line.
Make it go down, and voilaaaa, a fade in or out

Considering that doesn't work, it's very helpful. I see no red rubber bands in the video track, only the audio track...

IN pro, select the clip on the timeline, got to window -> effects control. In the effects window under fixed effects, click the triangle next to opacituy to expand the opacity track, make sure the stopwatch is clicked down to enable keyframing, set a key frame on the timeline in the effects window for the opaicty track at the 0 point of the clip, set the opacity at 0 %. Move the slider to the point where you want the fade in to finish, set a keyframe and set opacity to 100 %. Much easier to set the keyframes in effects timeline than on the main timeline, although I do miss the rubber band for quick fades :)

You have to use keyframes to do that with adobe!? Dman, I don't think I could live without my drag-in crossfades. I hate Premiere!

But, whattever suites you guys best...

Oh, you can use drag in cross fades, the question was a fade in on a clip, that is a horse of a different color, a cross fade, just drop the transition on the time line, select the fade sequence ( B to A or A to B) and change the duration if you want....... The solution I posted above is to adjust the opacity of the clip, it just results in a fade in....

Well couldn't the same thing be accomplished by adding a crossfade at the beginning of the clip?
