Grant's 'BLOOD EFFECTS' pages - New S.I.P. guide!

Post by Luteleigh »

Grant's put together a new guide - collaborating in one easy to view webpage (which I've just finished building) - all his knowledge based on Blood Effects for film and theatre!

This guide details hints, tips, do's and don'ts, but most importantly RECIPES. He tells about his preferred recipes, the tasty recipes, and inedible recipes. He explains how to get away with good effects on a tight budget, utilising items generally found in your kitchen or laundry cupboard, or easily obtained at the general store! The recipes range from the thin runny water based style, to nice and thick chocolate recipes.

Check it out NOW! - take this link. If not for the blood effects, at least for one or two exclusively NEW Udds X pics!!

Looking good SIP! Although, I have a slight feeling you took some tips from my site! It's all fair game for amateur filmmakers! Anyway, looks nice, keep up the good work...

link is working for me :) There has been a lot of DNS errors lately for some reason. Glad that you all like it, much hard work and experiences. BrownCow i did not raid your page so don't worry :) these techniques in part are fairly general to most effects schools

I know. I was simply referring to the use of a cut off latex glove finger as a blood packet, and tying it off with a paper clip. Everything else I've seen elsewhere countless times. But you provided a refreshing outlook on it...

Hmmm, thats got me stumped. I uploaded it last night, and it obviously was fine because some of you seen it. But then just before I checked and I couldn't view it either. Through the admin panel, none of what I uploaded last night about the blood effects was even there, but an update to the home page, tips, and sword fighting page still existed!! Whats going on Grant?

It's been re-uploaded, so try the same links again!

Yeah it's working now, but I'm telling you Grant, after a few of you visited it, all of it disappeared. I had to re-upload about half an hour ago.

Now that I think about it, remember seeing another makeup fx site some while ago just like yours. It had lots of information very similarly. However, this is far classier with all the pictures and examples. Job well done.

When making the syrup blood; add a bit of taste to it... (peppermint og lemon) to make it tastier
Ex:

Syrup
hot water
a bit of cocoa powder
food coloring (RED, +some yellow and green/ blue)
A few drops of the taste required
Mix and drink...

I tried using it for a mouth seen(which no-one ever wanted to do before). It looks real and they dont mind it all over them anymore!

I'm going to start using that blood recipe. Some actors in our movies are worried it won't come off their clothes with the recipe I use.
