cant install directx 9.0b

all right so i download the demo for halo and am all excited to play it but it says i need directx 9.0b. i dont have internet on that computer so i download the redist version and try to install it. but then it says that it has not passed windows xp logo testing or something like that and my only option is to stop the installation. i already have 9.0a i have a geforce 5600 ultra that is compatible, so what's wrong with it??

If you have a cd burner running windows 95, 98, or ME go to

U might have to burn them onto a disc...or put it on a floppy....thats the best you could probably do..short of connectin the pc's and sharing files..which i dont think u can do that

i already havwe the redist version (the link didnt work anyway). but when i install it it says it hasnt passed windows logo testing and wont install.

i dunno, take it to best buy or sumthin or to a local computer store tell em your problem they will get it installed

I GOT IT TO WORK!!!! YEAH!! i installed the newere version of the driver but that didnt help, i renamed the catroot2 folder (that was sup[posed to work) that didnt work, but then i went into msconfig and enabled everything and it installed perfect!! HORAY!!

dude, be careful with msconfig, some of that stuff that is in there is spywere, and will screw up your PC like perkacet....seriously tho be careful what u enable
