All of our weapons, besiding the bolt actions, are blank adapted to get to the necessary blowback for the semi-automatic guns. Any full auto rifles were rented from a hollywood armorer (because he has a class-3 license) for the events. Those are interally adapted and use very hot powder loads. Fun! The BFAs don't supress the entire flash, only enough of the gas to sucessfully work. Unless it is a boxy military type BFA, which we don't use. Even with military type blank adapters, you can seriously injure a person discharging your rifle in close combat.

Tigerland is a strange movie. I own it. They try to show the sadistic side of soldiers during training, but goes a little overboard. Okay movie when you are bored, but definately not one of the best films out there. How about The Longest Day?
Blank adapted rifles are still dangerous. Suppose you discharge your rifle in a room within a meter of another person's head? His ears would probably be bleeding.
We had one guy accidentally fired a HOT load blank in a M1903 rifle over another member's head. Ouch! Lucky me I was about 6 feet away, but I still felt the blast. I once fired one of those HOT blanks in a small wooden pillbox. I heard bells for a while With ear protection! Why do boys love guns so much??

Losing consciousness,
in the arms of an angel,
I find only peace.

because as certain ,e,bers of a UK SF regiment told us on tuesday, sometimes you need an inferior weapon. Apart from the bvious thing that it might be the cheapest weapon he could find to use as a prop, for close combat the M4 is marginally better than the SA80. (just passing on knowledge from the aformentioned group)
