Playing VCDs

Post by El Brenty »

Okay, I've got some dodgy CDs that a friend wants to play on his PC. Being new to this VCD and DVD stuff, does anyone know of any programs that are free to download that'll recognise the VCD and play it?

At the moment, I can play the .DAT video file in windows media player as an MPEG, but it's a bit long-winded, especially as my friend is a bit computer illeterate.

EDIT:

I came across this website that lists a few players and also some DVD ripping software. Web Site

Still post on here if any of yuou have experience in using VCD playing software

VCD = Video CD. A forerunner of DVD, quite common in Asia. Quality is more or less like VHS. Can be played in many DVD players as well.
