Camera shot... (vertigo effect)

Post by Super Chicken »

You guys know 'everyone loves raymond'?

remember at teh start in the intro when raymond looks out the window and sees his parents coming across the road? When it cuts to his face it zooms in on his face and does a closeup, whilst the backgrounds zooms out so it emphasises more on his face and the fear he is getting. How do they do that shot?

That is a zooming in close up of his face whilst teh background zooms out. Any ideas how to do that?

this thread could be better positioned in the editing thread if it is based around editing.

you put the cam on a track. then zoom in on the actors face. Then start moveing the cam towards the actor while zooming out. It is the Vertigo effect created by hitchcock. Works great in cars, because you don't need a dolly there.

I LOVE THAT SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, I think it is most likely greenscreened or rotoscoped.

But I havn't seen that intro in a while, ever since the new ones came out.
