VHS to computer

I'm wondering if anyone knows any way to get video from a VHS tape into a computer. Does anyone know of a way to get video from a VHS tape into a computer? It would be really helpfull if I could get video from a VHS tape into a computer. SO please help me get video from a VHS tape into a computer.

It's quite simple... all you have to do is go out to the store and purchase The Dazzle Digital Video creator. It comes with a device that allows you to hook up a vcr to it. This device then changes the signal from analog to digital in a converter...From there it captures to your pc and Wahlaa! you've got footage. It's usually around $100

LOL!! That was cool... And probably the clearest question ever asked on this forum!

You can use an analogue editing package such as Dazzle, I use the now out of production Iomega Buz, although many DV cameras allow analogue input so you can run footage on to your DV tapes and then back on to the PC.

I have a dazzle fusion. It imports analog video from a VCR, but it also reads all types of memory cards for digital camers. It's great. I think it's like $60 thouhg, but it's worth it. Plus, it comes with a a dvd creation program and Movie Star 5 (which I personally don't use)

The low end dazzle cards might not have quite the quality you are looking for, particularly the USB versions. I've used the dazzle 80, and it tends to drop a lot of frames and will only cap at 32x240 at 29.7fps. Dazzle has a higher thruput device that uses Firewire but runs about $199.00.

I have a Pinnacle DV500 board in my computer and it has the option of importing analog. It is really useful for getting those old tapes saved. It will capture everything you put into it, and works well for me. I hope this helps get your VHS tape into a computer!

I bought a TV card for under Ã‚Â£30, software came with it, all you do is plug ur VCR into the PC and record on the software

I always wondered if this idea would work: attach red/white/yellow cables to VCR and run them through the digital video camera (attached to comp). Press play on the VCR. The video cam would act as a 'messenger' between the VCR and comp? I should try itÃ¢â‚¬Â¦

Yeah... I just plug into my camera. (most are in/out) and hook up the camera via firewire.

VCR - Scartplug with S-Video attacment (Ã‚Â£6.95) - S-video lead to your VGA Card ( video in/out) done! works fine.

Yeah i got onoe for about 70$
and it came with a bunch of pinnacle software.
