Canon GL2 , Adobe Preimere 6.5 , Toshiba SD-5002 DVD-R/RW

Post by dintek »

Hello,

I am Very new to this forum and wanted to run by the process in which I have created a DVD-r

As the title indicates I used a Canon GL2 to film a Music Festival. I then Captured everything/edit in Adobe Premier 6.5.

After I was done I exported Via Adobe MPEG2 I used the Default DVD settings.

It Created a mp2 and a wav file.

I then brought that in to Ulead DVD Movie Factory 2 It created the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS Folders whith Everything vobs and such

I then created a DVD project with Nero 5.5.10.20 It burned the DVD-R at 1x

The DVD-r PLAYS fine on my standalone theatre dvd player , Menus and slide shows and the movie all work

My issue is with the quailty.

It should look a bit more crisp I would think.

To give you an example of the crispness or lack ther of...
if I export the footage from Preimer 6.5 to tape then it goes over firewire to the Canon GL2 , from that it then is also exported over STANDARD RCA CABLES to a VHS recorder the VHS tape looks better than the DVD version!

Any suggestions?

by the way does anyone know if the wide angle adapter for the XM-2/GL-2 fits the older version, XM-1/GL-1 as well?

The lens is 84mm

Retace your steps backwards ie

Try the DVD in your PC no luck,
Check the MP2 file,
Then check you DV source
Then playback the original directly

I would imagine that it is the MP2 stage that has gone wrong
