Fade in predator style

Post by El-Mariachi »

Ok heres what im trying to do. (using adobe prem 6.5

I have one 5 sec shot of a guy standing infront of a wall, the second 5 second shot is the wall on its own. I use the "difference matte" transparency setting to make the guy fade in and by moving the simlarity bar up and down.

Only problem is i want it to gradualy do this as the 5 secs plays, giving the apperance that the guy is fading into the shot as if his invisiblity is turning off.. any ideas on an easy way to do this?

I tried splitting the shot into lots of bits and setting the similarity level per section, but there must be an easier way to do it...

I'm sure you could just use a normal cross dissolve or an additive dissolve?

I know what you mean though, I had to do a lot of frame by frame stuff for Shosk, such as the lightning...
