does the gl2 have a setting to film in higher framerates in order to achieve a nice slow motion? if not, do any other DV cameras do that?

The GL2 can shoot in 30fps or 15 fps. But nothing higher to make it slow motion. I would be surprised if any other DV cam did. Mostly because it's way easier with film... But who knows.
Erm... yeah...

Here's the website of a company that specialises in specialist cameras!

They make apart from other things high-speed cameras, which are sometimes used in Sports Science.

anyone have any ideas on how to make SMOOTH slowmo using a 30 fps camera? like morphing individual frames together to make the slowed down footage look nice and smooth...

Mushiman talked about Vegas having ultra smooth slow motion. Search the forums and you'll find it. He was even kind enough to unclude a video comparing Premiere 6.5 and Vagas's slow motion capabilities...

amen to that! :P

go browsin the net for some programs...like i will now!

also VideoWave 5 (shudders) has a slo mo feature which morphs the frames. obiously keep the shutter speed up on your cam to get extra clear pictures of whatever you are filming, it ittl be a blurry smidge on the screen

EDIT: ok i downloaded aSlowMotion from http://www.imagespro.com/programs/2200/ ...ok its only shareware but if you dont mind spending 16 dollars it should work out. i downloaded the explosion.avi video fromthe FX section in matthawkins.co.uk (10fps) and slowed it down by a factor of 3 (1.7 secs to 5 secs or something)

here is the post where mushman showed off Vagas, which is a great program, if you don't have a big one yet and are looking to buy there is a great choice.
Ya, I'm sure no DV cam shoots in real slowmotion, mine doesn't. It works with film because its using true frames, and such.
